Professional Services

Overview

Technology for professional services, built around how you operate

Service businesses sell time and expertise, and they lose both to administration. Client details in one place, work in progress in another and billing in a third leaves partners chasing information instead of serving clients. Corefort builds workflow and client-management tools tailored to service businesses.

A consultancy, an accounting practice and an agency all work differently. We do not force them into one template. We scope the system around your engagement lifecycle, your team structure and how you bill.

Industry challenges

Where technology tends to get in the way

1

Client information scattered everywhere

Contacts, documents and history spread across inboxes and folders make it hard for anyone to pick up where a colleague left off.

2

Work in progress with no shared view

Without a common place to track tasks and deadlines, managers rely on status meetings and memory.

3

Time and billing leakage

Hours that are not recorded, or invoices sent late, cost the firm money that was already earned.

4

Onboarding new clients and staff

Repeating the same setup steps by hand for every engagement wastes time and creates inconsistency.

What we build

Systems we can build for professional services

Custom build

Client management

A single record for each client, with contacts, history and documents in one place.

Custom build

Engagement and task tracking

Shared tracking of work, owners and deadlines across a team.

Custom build

Time tracking and billing

Recording of time and expenses feeding directly into invoices.

Custom build

Document management

Organised, permission-controlled storage for client documents.

Custom build

Client portals

A secure place for clients to see progress, share files and approve work, where it suits your firm.

Custom build

Reporting for partners and managers

Utilisation, revenue and pipeline views based on your real data.

Corefort does not currently publish a ready-made professional-services product. These tools are scoped as custom development.

In practice

How this can look for your business

A consultancy tracking work in spreadsheets

The situation

Each consultant keeps their own tracker, so managers cannot see what is due or who is overloaded.

The approach

A shared engagement tracker with owners and deadlines, and reporting that shows workload across the team.

An accounting practice with slow invoicing

The situation

Time is recorded on paper and entered later, so billing runs behind the work.

The approach

Time and expense capture that feeds straight into invoices, shortening the gap between doing the work and billing it.

A firm that wants a client portal

The situation

Clients email documents back and forth and ask for status updates by phone.

The approach

A secure portal for documents and progress updates, sized to what your firm is comfortable sharing.

These are illustrative scenarios to show how we think about the problem. They are not client case studies.

Designed for how your team really works

Staff move between the office, client sites and home. We build tools that stay usable on the move and do not assume a fast connection everywhere.

Security considerations

Service firms hold confidential client information, so access control matters. These are the practices we design around.

We describe these as engineering practices. Corefort does not claim formal certification, audit or regulatory accreditation, and a system is never described as compliant with a standard unless that has actually been assessed.

  • Role-based access, so people see only the clients and files they should
  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Audit trails on sensitive documents and actions
  • Backup and recovery planning
  • Monitoring and incident-response procedures

How we work

From first conversation to a system you rely on

  1. 1

    Discover

We map how an engagement moves from enquiry to invoice and where time and information are lost.

  2. 2

    Architect

We design the client, engagement and billing structure around how your firm is organised.

  3. 3

    Build

We build in stages, starting with the workflow that saves the most time each week.

  4. 4

    Deploy

We launch with team onboarding and monitoring so adoption is smooth.

  5. 5

    Scale

We keep refining the system as your services, team and client base grow.

Questions

Common questions about professional services projects

Do you have a ready-made product for service firms?

Not at the moment. Tools for service businesses are built as custom software around your firm's workflow.

Can clients log in to see progress?

A client portal can be part of the build if it fits your firm. Exactly what clients can see is decided with you during discovery.

Can you work with the systems we already use?

Integration with existing systems is scoped during discovery. What is practical depends on what those systems make available, and we will tell you plainly what is and is not realistic before anything is built.

How long will it take and what will it cost?

Timelines and pricing depend on scope, so neither is published for custom work. After a discovery conversation we give you a realistic timeline, and you can request a quote at any time.
